Love Story
I breathe my smoke into herUntil her fair skin turns ashen like mine
Her lungs fill up with darkness
And yet her tearful eyes search within mine
For even a speck of the love that she nurtures for me
Walk By Me
Your pretty voice pitter patters in the rainProviding the rhythym to our steps
As we run through the field, laughing
Freezing in the rain, yet warm in our embrace
The Sun
The clouds sneak awayAs if hiding a secret
Flooding me with your warmth
You shine through
Without you
The Winds are harsher without youScattering my thoughts in your absence
To sum up what remained
I wish the waters would run dry
And the storms would wreak havoc
In lieu of your presence
For, maybe then, I wouldn't be so alone
in my thoughts of you
What bleeds from the quill of the sleepless at 3:33 am
My inspiration, like a bat, only rises when the sun setsI'd write you a novel,
if sleep wasn't so necessary
And poems I'd have written so quickly
If you didn't mind them bathed in the unholy
brooding shade of the night
Each word so carefully plucked from your mind
and pinned onto a sheet
Why must my muse call for me
Only in the hours of my sleep
And with the blood pooling in my eyes
I'd pen the state of my heart
But the page remains white as snow
for after all, no thoughts does a sleepless heart own
